Literature Text

Maybe I'm much better off "winging it", like how
you used to tell me we should do it. The thing is, it was
so much easier to do then because I was with you; You see,
I didn't think that I would lose you the way I had lost
my faith in so many things in this life. Back in the days,
for me "Winging it" was a lot like being in a two-seater
jet plane ride in a star-speckled sky.

Back in the days.

Now "winging it" is simply myself, inside
a single-seater fighter plane, operating
on a fuzzy radar in the gray skies infested by lost missiles.

Fly. Evade. Shoot. Repeat.

There is an abundant lack of assurance
on my survival. I have the option to jump out, but I never
leave the plane. "Do or die" I think to myself, all the while
holding onto whatever's left of the thin thread
that binds my heart to your mind.
